Keita, Ava & Kimberley have worked diligently creating a variety of Dog treats and Cat toys to donate to the local SPCA. Today we delivered their hard work and got to visit the cats and try the toys out! They seemed to enjoy them. The Dog Treats have also been trialled and they loved them! It was really fun making all of these treats and getting to visit the SPCA. We hope some of the many animals there get new homes soon!
Zoe and Flynn have both completed their Social Actions this week. Flynn has had a very personal experience with Cancer and he wanted to repay the community support his family experienced during this challenging time. The meals that his family received relieved some of the pressure to keep the family going and he initially wanted to make meals to deliver for people undergoing treatment. When this idea did not come off, Flynn decided that he could instead make Xmas Truffles and deliver them to our fabulous Hospice.
Zoe also baked treats and she accompanied a meals on Wheels volunteer driver the fabulous Julie. Zoe wanted to deliver some home baked treats to elderly members of the community who are no longer able to bake.
We are very proud of these small acts of kindness and know that these have been well received by all recipients!
At Enrich we have been studying systems. As part of this study we have spent 2 terms working on a project where we have chosen a system to research. As part of our project we have had to do a social action at the end of our research. We chose the human welfare system and focused on the homeless and hungry. For our social action we are making plastic snap lock bags filled with the basics to live off (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, tea bag ). We will then give them to the Salvation Army for them to give to people. We asked Preston Russell Law And ILT to sponsor us so we could buy the contents of the bag. We now have $600 to spend on the supplies in the bag! We would like to thank Preston Russell Law and Invercargill Licensing Trust for their very generous donations. We can’t wait until we get to carry on with our project. We will post more details as we complete this amazing social action that will really make a difference. Much Love Grace & Katie
