Today the Thursday students were treated to a dissection of animal body parts as part of our ongoing learning about body systems.
Today we got to get up close and personal with a Cow's organs; a heart, lungs and a kidney.
Carmen from Waikiwi Veterinary Services was so well prepared and fabulously accommodating of the deluge of questions. The opportunity to touch the different parts and hear the physiology behind how each part worked was very engaging.Students also got to use a stethoscope and listen to their own and other peoples heart beats.
We discussed the renal system, the respiratory system and the pulmonary system in detail to further our understanding of each of these.
It was fascinating apologies, we may have created some new vegans and vegetarians...
A huge thanks to Carmen and Waikiwi Veterinary Services for the time and expertise, we are so very appreciative. And to Jenni for organising this.
